Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for information.
An important political figure stated the vandalism left him without words and had to be addressed promptly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
