Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term coach Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
The win also means he has won 21 titles at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and regular reactions on court had led some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play positively, supported by an better serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.
He rescued four initial break points in a close third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
